Moments ago, Governor Scott officially signed the 2018-2019 budget into law. He vetoed $64 million of legislative projects that he determined did not provide a great return for state of Florida.
Within the budget, Florida Gulf Coast University received the following funding:
- $13.7 Million: FGCU Operational Funding
- $10 Million: PECO (Public Education Capital Outlay) Funding for FGCU's Integrated Watershed and Coastal Studies
- $500,000: Restoration of Recurring Funding for FGCU's Academic and Career Attainment Initiative
And also received additional funding:
- $4 Million: PECO Funding for FGCU's Integrated Watershed and Coastal Studies contingent upon the anticipated FEMA reimbursement amount for hurricanes.
